August 27th, day 27

Headed to Bandon, OR today from the Crater Lake area.

We were very blessed to have been able to spend 9 nights at Lemolo Lake/Crater Lake KOA campground. Nothing fancy, but it was great and very remote. Yet, just like other stores out in the middle of nowhere, its grocery prices were still cheaper than Alaska. Lol

Crater Lake is the deepest lake in the US, the water is a beautiful deep blue and it is so clean you can drink it (and we did).

Highlights - Ken was gone 3 nights and had safe travels to and from Alaska, Rose and I were able to meet up with former neighbors Jeff and Cheryl in Eugene and had a nice visit with them, Trader Joe’s!, Royal India restaurant (I love Indian food), Rose and I did a handful of waterfall hikes, Rose cooked us a great breakfast, Bike rides, $5 pizza delivered to our campsite (WAY cheaper than Alaska), squirrel got into Rose’s bag and ate some of her snacks …she was not happy, amazing boat ride at Crater Lake, 3,000+ photos of Crater Lake (Jenn), Ken jumping into Crater Lake from 25 feet, Rose and I swimming in lake, and one of the top highlights of our trip so far was being invited to attend Chances4Children Sak Pase fundraising dinner event at the Silvan Ridge Winery benefiting women and children in Haiti. Rose was the special guest who drew raffle tickets for lovely baskets. Most of the winners just happened to be seated at our table which was fun … and they raised over $43,000 that evening. What a blessing to be in the area so that we could attend such a wonderful event.

Thank you again for all of the prayers.

PS Abby is doing great. Working and taking Psychology 101 class at ASU online. She enjoyed spending time with Ken.
