Day 6 - USA


We arrived Sunday evening in Washington state. We will be in the Burlington and Seattle areas through Sunday or so.

Crossing the border was fairly quick and easy. GPS took us on miles of back roads and farms to arrive at our campground that is minutes from Interstate 5. LOL Thankfully Ken is driving our almost 60 foot rig. 

Rose is happy that this is the second campground with a pool. Me too!

Rose at Arizona Science Center Our decorations  Campground pool (yes it’s heated) and hot tub (also heated) Pickleball court  Rose saw Karissa again - we met her 2 years ago. July 28 - Final Day of the Big Trip

Rose and Jenn were fortunate to be able to enjoy the Liard Hot Sprimgs  very close to the campground where Ken installed the repaired axle. Alaskan beauty. And more! It was so great to see  the Alaska sign. Can you tell these passengers are very excited? Many gas pumps in the Yukon Territory  look like this. And you have to go inside and leave your credit card for the pump to be turned on. And they aren’t 24/7. And sometimes you have to wait in line. And sometimes they have no gas or their pumps just aren’t working. Gas can be as much as $6.50/gallon in Yukon. Joy. Joy. And more Joy. We saw a lot of bison. They are big! And several bears just roaming.  Almost home! We are home and in our driveway! Top: July 28, 2024 arriving home  Bottom: August 1, 2023 leaving home  The truck and camper made it too! October 22 - St George and Bryce Canyon, Utah

30 minutes after leaving Las Vegas Drive to St George More scenery  Pool at St George campground Sand Hollow State Park Bike trail in St George near Virgin River Sign on trail Drive to Bryce Canyon Tunnel on way to Bryce Canyon Natural Bridge at Bryce Canyon Bryce Canyon National Park Bike lane and road to Tropic, Utah - nice downhill into the town Hike to Mossy Cave Mossy Cave trail The drive leaving Las Vegas started out uneventful although traffic was somewhat heavy. Then about 30 minutes later and within 15 minutes of me updating the last post to say we hit over 8,000 travel miles, the rear left trailer tire “exploded”. The location wasn’t ideal but Ken managed to drive to the far left lane that was blocked off and therefore available. Within 20 minutes we were on the road again.
