September 3 - Bandon by the Sea

Ken and Rose

Face Rock

Jenn and Rose on bike ride

Our 8 night stay at Bandon by the Sea RV Park in Bandon, OR is coming to an end. It is a quiet campground with quite a few long term residents and virtually no children. It’s also very quiet so we fit right in with Ken working on projects with his power tools. 🤣 This one, like many others, has a campfire ban due to the very dry conditions in Oregon. Thankfully the air quality is good and isn’t smoky from the wildfires.

The location is great - we can bike or take short drives to nearby beaches. No one is swimming in them - I think because the water is too cold and some have large rocks. Rose has enjoyed dancing on the beach and exploring.

We (I) did lots of laundry this week. Nothing exciting but in case you think it’s all vacay! The facilities at the campground were nice and close to our site. I also defrosted our small freezer and refrigerator. This is common in campers since they can run on propane or electricity. No auto defrosting. Good times.

I think that the weather has been HOT but Ken says not really. If it’s 66 and sunny and no breeze it’s hot! Then a few minutes later there’s a breeze and it’s a bit chilly. I am enjoying the chilly moments.

We were blessed by attending a lovely church service at Bandon Christian Fellowship today. Rose loved the kids service and wants to move here and go back. She enjoyed playing dodgeball against older kids and not getting out for a long time. She said playing defense in hockey and soccer helped her with that!

Off to Garberville CA tomorrow. Redwoods country.

Happy Labor Day!
