Rose was not very impressed with the number of people on the Las Vegas Strip. She said that there were one thousand too many. So we limited our time there but did enjoy a nice dinner at Mon Ami Gabi (French bistro) and dessert crepes at La Creperie. Ken and Rose also said the pizza was quite good at La Pizza. The next best thing to being in Paris sans les bedbugs. 

The campground has been the largest to date with over 800 sites. I thought that the traffic was congested in the Vegas area but not too terrible. However, locals claim it is worse than usual due to the $80 million road project preparing for the first Formula One race in Las Vegas in November, including a section on the strip. 

Rose and I greatly enjoyed the Cirque de Soleil Mystere show. Wow! Rose seemed to be in awe and very impressed although she also mentioned being able to do most of the acrobatic tricks.  

The Titanic exhibit was spectacular. I had seen it before and would see it again. Both Ken and Rose seemed to appreciate it. Rose liked touching the iceberg and making us cold. 

We drove the 13 mile scenic loop at Red Rock Canyon. That is where Rose and I saw the rattlesnake! Quite exciting. Thankfully no incidents. 

And today we found Hope Church Las Vegas not too far from our campground. Service was great and the leader said Rose was the best kid in her group. ❤️ Tonight we went to Paris for the last time and drove by the Sphere. 

Off to Utah tomorrow.

    We flew over Las Vegas on 10/15 on our flight home from LAX after the cruise! That's another place we'd love to get back to. We're not gamblers but love the sights and that it's a good "home base" to see the National Parks. We spent a couple of ours at Red Rock Canyon the year we were there, didn't see any rattlesnakes though. Glad there were no incidents but think they're pretty good about giving warnings. LOL!!!

July 28 - Final Day of the Big Trip

Rose and Jenn were fortunate to be able to enjoy the Liard Hot Sprimgs  very close to the campground where Ken installed the repaired axle. Alaskan beauty. And more! It was so great to see  the Alaska sign. Can you tell these passengers are very excited? Many gas pumps in the Yukon Territory  look like this. And you have to go inside and leave your credit card for the pump to be turned on. And they aren’t 24/7. And sometimes you have to wait in line. And sometimes they have no gas or their pumps just aren’t working. Gas can be as much as $6.50/gallon in Yukon. Joy. Joy. And more Joy. We saw a lot of bison. They are big! And several bears just roaming.  Almost home! We are home and in our driveway! Top: July 28, 2024 arriving home  Bottom: August 1, 2023 leaving home  The truck and camper made it too! July 5 - Ozark, Missouri

Happy Fourth of July! Fun times with friends Rose (10), Caleb (12), Titus (7) Water balloons on July 4th It was a fun and fierce battle. Jenn and Erica Toby and Ken The kids  Great memories. Titus at his swim meet. He did great. We parked in their driveway and enjoyed  the amenities of their lower level suite.  We all enjoyed the extra space. The kids enjoyed lots of play time. Time Traveler roller coaster at Silver Dollar City. Caleb and Titus after their baseball teams won. They both did great! We enjoyed a lovely date night at a nearby hibachi restaurant. Action shot of Titus. He’s a strong boy, Street fireworks. There were lots of fireworks in the neighborhood but were somewhat cut  short by God’s fireworks aka a big thunderstorm that evening.
