May 31 - New Stanton, Pennsylvania

My mom “Nana”, Rose and me.
Rose enjoyed baking cookies with Nana
and spending time with her.

We had a blast boating with my sister
Michele and her boyfriend Jeff at Yough Dam.

My nephew Tre came to visit us at Fox Den Acres.
His birthday is today, May 31st!

We got to see my Dad several times at his house and
the campground and he treated us to a few meals.
Nobiles in Youngwood is always good!
(Sue F - highly recommend)

Enjoyed visits with friends.
Holly - Our families went to Nags Head
together when we were younger. She lives in Virginia
and enjoys competing in 5K races.

Sue - IUP college friends and we went to France
together one summer. We enjoyed a lovely Memorial
Day picnic at her home with her family and friends.

Janeen - We worked at McDonald’s on the PA
Turnpike in high school. She was a coveted “hostess” and
didn’t have to cook burgers or take orders.
We walked to a lovely restaurant from her house and
she treated me to a great dinner.

We enjoyed our visits with Uncle Greg,
Bud and Brenda Barth (Nags Head parents of
Holly above), Aunt Margie, Jill and Kenzie.

So great to have breakfast with Cheryl and Laura,
friends from high school. And they look
great in the cold so Alaska would be good for them.

Rose and Nana spending time together and
baking chocolate chip cookies.

This is the camper our family had at Yough Dam
growing up. It’s still there! But no one uses it.
It looks small but it’s very spacious on the inside.
Especially when you’re a kid.

Rose and I had a great day at the Carnegie
Science Center in Pittsburgh.

Rose was on stage helping with the
digestive system experiment.

At Yough Dam

The “unexpected” severe thunderstorm
as we drove from Ohiopyle to
New Stanton. PTL that we had no issues.
Michele and Jeff had a few delays getting back
from fallen trees but thankfully the Ohiopyle
Fire Department responded quickly.

Rose’s new braids.
She loves them.

My dad, Brenda and Bud.

Happy birthday Amy! We met in Colorado
after both having hip labral tear surgeries at the
Steadman Clinic.
She is battling cancer in her cervical spine so
prayers for her and her family would be appreciated.
She is a strong Christian woman.

It’s been another great week visiting with family and friends as pictured above. It has been fun just hanging out and catching up and remembering good times together. The weather has been in the 60s and 70s with some thunderstorms here and there. It’s very green and pretty.

I was able to bike on the Rails to Trails twice, the longest ride being 18 miles before reporting to school as teacher.

The Carnegie Science Center was a great visit. Since it was the Friday before Memorial Day weekend I didn’t expect a lot of field trips but I think schools that were still in session decided that was the perfect day for a trip. The plus is that those groups leave around 2pm and then the science center was quiet. Rose enjoyed building with Lego like blocks, watching the science shows, the body exhibits, and the laser show to Taylor Swift music.

Today it’s birthday celebrations for Tre, Leigh (we will see you next week), and Amy. Aunt Margie’s birthday was Wednesday. Happy Birthday! We are on our way to New York for 3 nights then we will be in Lee, New Hampshire for a week visiting my sister Kimberly and her husband Leigh and daughter Evangeline who will be graduating from high school Thursday.

Thank you for all of the prayers. ❤️
